1. a strip of leather or other flexible material, or a long, narrow piece of wood having its faces covered with leather or an abrasive, or some similar device, used for sharpening razors.
2. Nautical
a. a ring of rope fitted round a block or spar, with an eye used for connecting.
b. a large ring of rope used as a sling.
